Follow-up Ultrasound

On June 8th, 2012 - We have our follow-up ultrasound due to the doctor finding an irregular heartbeat at our 20 week ultrasound.  When we went for our 20 week ultrasound the doctor said that alot of times the irregular heartbeat resolves itself by the next followup one.  We were all hoping that would be the case but Baby Jenks decided to throw us through another loop.  This time when the doctor listened to his heart rate it was a different rhythm instead of the bigeminy heart rhythm he was displaying last time.  He would occasionally go back into the bigeminy rhythm but, he was mostly in this other rhythm.  His heart rate has dipped down to 88 bpm which is very slow, but the doctor said that everything structurally that he can see looks like it is developing correctly.  The doctor is thinking it may be premature atrial contractions (PACs) or a slim chance it may be a heart block.  I have been placed on high risk now and have to see a doctor every week to see how the heart rate is doing.  The doctor has scheduled us to see a prenatal cardiologist on June 19th so he can evaluate what is going on with our little guy.  The 19th can't come soon enough!!!  We were told by the doctor not to worry about anything, but it is hard not to worry when something is obviously going on.  What I worry most about is that the heart rate will continue to go down.  Hopefully that is not the case!!  We are hoping that the heart rate will go back up and correct itself.  I guess there is still hope that this could just go away.  Which we are hoping Baby Jenks does soon rather than later. Chuck Feels the Baby Move

On June 3rd, 2012, was an exciting day for both Chuck and I.  Chuck was finally able to feel the baby move!!  His face lit up when he finally was able to feel baby Jenks move.  He did say that he thought it was a weird feeling as well, but also very exciting.  Baby Jenks have been a very active baby in my belly doing lots of somersaults.  It will be interesting to see if he will poke his hand or foot out of my belly eventually.

Building the Crib

On May 30th, 2012 - Chuck and I started to build the crib.  We got the frame part completed when my mom paid us a visit and helped with the rest of the project!!  It turned out wonderful and we didn't even have any left over pieces!! hehe

21 Weeks Pictures

The Baby Furniture has Arrived!!

On May 24, 2012 - Chuck, Kyle and my mom picked up the baby furniture from Buy Buy Baby!! It took two trucks for the furnture to make its way to our house.  It was exciting to see them pull up with these huge boxes!  When it was unloading time Chuck and Kyle agreed we should have paid to have the furniture delivered.  It was extremely heavy for the boy, but they were real troopers!!

Remodel Baby's Room

The remodel of the house is coming along.  On May 22, 2012 Uncle was able to finish the trim and the doors in the baby's room.  All that is left is patch a hole in the closet, finish the trim around the window and get a new light fixture.  We have decided that the baby's room will be Vintage Airplanes with an industrial/traditional feel.  We found a light fixture that would be perfect, but found out it would hang too low & Chuck would hit his head on it.  So we are still on the hunt for a new light fixture.  



Gender Reveal Party

We had our Gender Reveal Party on 05/19/2012 with our families.  Our close family that attened to share in our exciting news were my parents, my Aunt Gina & Uncle (2nd parents), my grandma, Chuck's mom, Chuck's sister, Devin and her daughter Sydney, Chuck's brother Kyle, his wife Krissy & their son Even, and Chuck's grandma.  We just want to thank all of our family that shared in our special day and making it a day we will never forget!! We love you all!!

2nd Ultrasound

We had our 2nd Ultrasound on May 16th, 2012 which also happened to be my mom's birthday.  Both mother's came along to see this ultrasound.  It is absolutely amazing how big the baby has gotten since the first ultrasound.  In this ultrasound they did a ton of different measurements of the baby to make sure the baby is growing correctly.  The doctor said that the baby was growing correctly and all the organs and brain looked wonderful.  We did find out that I have to be more closely monitored though since they detected that the baby has heart bigeminy.  Heart bigeminy is where the heartrate is irregularlly beating.  In my case the heart beats twices and then pauses and repeats the pattern.  The doctor said not to worry about it that most of the time these things fixes itself and he saids it is very common to see.  But being our first little on the way it is hard not to worry.  We have our follow-up appointment with him in three weeks to look at what is developing. 

As for finding out the gender of the baby that day, Chuck and I decided that we wanted to find out the gender with our close family all together.  So we had the nurse put what the gender of the baby was in an envelope.  We then dropped the envelop off at the bakery and they are going to put what color frosting blue or pink on the inside of the cake.  We will find out the gender on Sat May 19th.  We are so excited!!  I am saying it will be a girl.  Chuck is now thinking that it is a boy after seeing the ultrasound.

Floors Have Been Refinished!!

We said the renovations were underway and they are in full force this month.  The floors we just finished on Friday May 11, 2012 and we are so happy with the results. The renovation process for the floors:

Heart Beat Update

We went for another doctor's visit on 04/30/2012 -  The heartbeat is now at 154 beats per minute.  So it has come down as is expected.  The doctor said the heartbeat is extremely strong.  We have our ever anticipated ultra  sound this Wednesday on May 16, 2012.  What will it be???

Renovations Underway

Renovations are underway in the Jenks household.  Chuck has been busy painting his butt off.  He has gotten the kitchen and the playroom all done.  The weather has not really been cooperating with us so he hasn't been able to get much farther then that.  He is hoping we can get the nursery and possibly the rest of the house painted this weekend.  Hopefully it will be nice otherwise I guess I will be crashing at my parents house for a couple of days until the paint smell is gone.  We have started to get estimates to refinish the floors, replace all the trim in our house.  Other renovations that will be done will be by the best carpenter I know, Uncle (my other papa).  He will hopefully have time to re-drywall the entry and patch a hole in the baby's room closet.  Poor Chuck leaned on the wall to get something in the closet and fell right through... it was sort of funny when it happened.  Also he will replace all interior doors and we will figure out if we can replace the trim around the windows or if sanding and restaining it.  That task does not sound fun.  I can't wait until all of the renovations are done and the fun starts.... decorating!!!

Gender Reveal Party Invites Ordered!

I just finished ordering our invitations for our Gender Reveal Party we will be having on May 19th.  Chuck and I decided very early on that we wanted to find out the sex of the baby, but wanted to find out with our families.  The party will have a Bee Theme Gender Reveal Party.  For those of you who have never heard of a Gender Reveal Party; it is where we will ask the Ultrasound Tech on May 16th to write down on a piece of paper what the sex is and place it into a sealed envelope.  Chuck and I will then take it to a bakery where the bakery will then put pink or blue icing inside the cake.  When the day of the party arrives and we cut the cake we will all find out together what the sex is.  I can't wait to find out!!!  Now just waiting for the invites to arrive in the mail so we can send them out!!
