Tummy Time!!

On January 18th, 2013 - We practiced tummy time!! Emerson also decided he wanted to talk to us!!

On January 12th, 2013 - Uncle Wayne and Auntie Lexie hosted their first annual Christmas Dinner.  All the babies finally got to meet for the first time that night!  It was such a wonderful time!! I think it was the first time any of us has eating at a table with all of us together.  Usually it is around a camp fire!!  Uncle Wayne and Auntie Lexie got all the babies a name puzzle for xmas.  Super cute!!

3 Month Pictures

On January 10th, 2013 - Emerson turned 3 months.  He is now 15 lb 2 oz, 24 1/2 inches long and 40 cm head size.

Daddy and Emerson Day

On January 4th, 2013 - Daddy and Emerson spent their first day alone together!! Chuck was very nervous to have him all to himself!  He was so cute he asked me a bunch of questions to make sure that he would be doing everything how Emerson liked.  They had a great day together!!  Needless to say Chuck realized that day how tough it really is to be a stay at home mom.  He told Devin that night, that she is an amazing mom and it is really tough work!!

On January 3rd, 2013 - 1st time Emerson fell asleep when swaying back and forth in daddy's arms.

1st New Years Eve

On December 31st, 2012 - Emerson celebrated his 1st New Years Eve.  Grandma Cookie and Grandpa Gary came over to our house to celebrate.  We made lots of small appetizers and then ate pizza for dinner.  Grandma and grandpa ended up going home around 9:30pm since his back was hurting.  Plus Emerson was still sick and he was having trouble falling asleep with everyone there.  I think Emerson is like his father, he's got FEARMO!! "Fear of Missing Out!"  Once everyone left he was out in 5 minutes.  Chuck and I ended up going to bed at 10:30 pm since we were starting to get sick as well.  So not a very good New Years at the Jenks household.  Hopefully next year is better!!

1st Visit to the ER

On December 26th, 2012 - Emerson went to the Emergency Room!! I woke up around 11 pm and noticed that Emerson wasn't sounding right.  I took his temp and it was 102.5.  I called the hospital and they said to give him liquid Tylenol.  We still had some left over from when we had to give it to him when he was a couple days old.  So I gave it to him to see if it would knock the temp down.  It knocked it down to 101.5.  I called our pediatrician and he said given how young he is he recommmended bringing him to the ER.  So we got to the ER around 12:30 am.  The hospital checked us in fast and looked over Emerson pretty fast as well.  We sat in the waiting room for about a half hour and then they gave us a room in the ER.  We then waited 3 hours to see a doctor.  The doctor came in for 5 minutes and said "Ok we are going to swab him for the flu and give him a chest xray".  Then we waited another hour before those things.  Once the xray and swab was done.  We waited another hour for the results. Emerson ended up testing positive for the flu.  The lungs were clear which was a good thing.  It then took another hour for them to check us out of the ER.  My dad ended up having to come up to the hospital because Chuck had to go home to get ready for work.  We were at the emergency room from 12:30 am until 7:00 am!!! It was a crazy long night.  Everytime at the ER we got our little guy to sleep someone would come in and wake him up.  I thought that his schedule of sleeping was going to be all crazy, but turns out it went right back to normal the next day!!   

They ran out of boy gowns so he got a girl gown! Pink Elephants!!

1st Christmas

On December 25th, 2012 - It was Emerson's first Christmas!! We celebrated with my dad, Uncle and Aunt Gina at Uncle's house.  My mom ended up getting the stomach flu on Christmas Eve so we missed seeing her on Christmas.  We then went to Auntie Devin's house in the afternoon and evening to celebrate Christmas with Auntie Devin, Uncle Bob, Will, Ben, Sydney, JuJu, Auntie Krissy, Uncle Kyle, Evan and Molly.  Uncle Bob's parents also came by to celebrate and eat dinner with us.  Emerson was very delightful for Christmas.  All smiles!! He really couldn't do much for Christmas this year but got some amazing gifts!!!

Emerson got a furry winter hat from Uncle Wayne and Auntie Lexie.  It should fit him for a couple of winters!! Love it!!

Emerson attends a Party!!!

On December 22nd, 2012 - We all went to Auntie Lauren's and Uncle Tim's new apartment to celebrate Christmas/House Warming Party!!  This was Emerson's first party that he attended. He was such a good boy!!  He also got to meet Brooklyn for the first time!

Maternity Leave Over!!!

On December 17th, 2012 - I returned back to work.  I thought that I would be sad about having to leave Emerson, but it wasn't actually too bad.  Probably since my mom will be watching him until January 30th since she is off due to her knee replacement surgery she had in November.  First week back was very crazy everything seemed to be due at the end of the week and lots of changes were done while I was out.  So it was very stressful, but seeing Emerson and Chuck when I got home made things bearable.

2 Month Dr Appointment

On December 10th, 2012 - We took Emerson to his new pediatrician.  We ended up switching because at his last month's appointment the doctor had Emerson in his diaper waiting an hour in the room for him to check him and to get his shot.  That was unacceptable plus mom found out that one of her people from work also went to our last doctor and he had missed a ton of stuff that was wrong going on with that baby.  We absolutely love our new pediatrician.  Its like the old days when the doctor did everything.  He doesn't have a nurse and when you call after hours you actually talk to him on his cell not a service desk!!!  When we went for his 2 month appointment he got his vaccines which included Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Haemophilus Influenza Type B, Inactivated Polovirus, Pneumococcal & Rotavirus.  It ended up being 3 shots and one vaccine taken orally.  He did amazing!! Quick cry and he was over it.  His chart sizes were.  23 1/2 inches length, 39 cm in head, and 13 lbs 4 oz weight.
