Heart Beat Update

We went for another doctor's visit on 04/30/2012 -  The heartbeat is now at 154 beats per minute.  So it has come down as is expected.  The doctor said the heartbeat is extremely strong.  We have our ever anticipated ultra  sound this Wednesday on May 16, 2012.  What will it be???

Renovations Underway

Renovations are underway in the Jenks household.  Chuck has been busy painting his butt off.  He has gotten the kitchen and the playroom all done.  The weather has not really been cooperating with us so he hasn't been able to get much farther then that.  He is hoping we can get the nursery and possibly the rest of the house painted this weekend.  Hopefully it will be nice otherwise I guess I will be crashing at my parents house for a couple of days until the paint smell is gone.  We have started to get estimates to refinish the floors, replace all the trim in our house.  Other renovations that will be done will be by the best carpenter I know, Uncle (my other papa).  He will hopefully have time to re-drywall the entry and patch a hole in the baby's room closet.  Poor Chuck leaned on the wall to get something in the closet and fell right through... it was sort of funny when it happened.  Also he will replace all interior doors and we will figure out if we can replace the trim around the windows or if sanding and restaining it.  That task does not sound fun.  I can't wait until all of the renovations are done and the fun starts.... decorating!!!

Gender Reveal Party Invites Ordered!

I just finished ordering our invitations for our Gender Reveal Party we will be having on May 19th.  Chuck and I decided very early on that we wanted to find out the sex of the baby, but wanted to find out with our families.  The party will have a Bee Theme Gender Reveal Party.  For those of you who have never heard of a Gender Reveal Party; it is where we will ask the Ultrasound Tech on May 16th to write down on a piece of paper what the sex is and place it into a sealed envelope.  Chuck and I will then take it to a bakery where the bakery will then put pink or blue icing inside the cake.  When the day of the party arrives and we cut the cake we will all find out together what the sex is.  I can't wait to find out!!!  Now just waiting for the invites to arrive in the mail so we can send them out!!

14 Week Pictures

Listening to the Heartrate

On March 30th, 2012 (11 weeks) - We had another appointment this time they took a bunch of blood and we got to hear the heart rate again.  The heart rate this time was 160 bmp.  It is normal as the baby is getting bigger for the heart rate to go down.  I just got over being pretty sick so I had lost 10lbs since my last visit but, Dr. Cardone said that I was just the right size for how far I was along.

1st Ultrasound

We had our 1st Ultrasound done on Feb 27th, 2012.  It was an amazing experience seeing the little baby and hearing the heart rate.  Our rate rate was at 173 pbm for this visit.  Everyone is leaning towards a girl; well except for our nephews Ben and Will, they would like boy!!

Telling Chuck's Family

We told Chuck's family on February 12, 2012, when we went over to Devin's house (Chuck's sister) for a family dinner.  When we arrived not everyone was there yet so we tried to keep busy by helping mom with dinner, otherwise we knew we would totally blurt it out.  When Kyle, Krissy and Evan arrived they handed out little Valentine's Day cards.  Which I thought to myself, "Oh good, this will be the perfect time to pass out what we brought".  We gave everyone their cards to open, which all of them thought was another Valentine's day card, which it was but with a little surprise.  Mom was the first to open her card and all you could hear is her screaming.  Inside each card was a picture of six feet.  (2 are mine, 2 Chuck's, and the other 2 were my baby shoes).   Below our feet said, "Our Family is Expanding by Two Feet".  After mom starting screaming everyone hurried to open their cards as well.  When everyone read the picture we all were so excited and hugged!!!

Telling My Parents

After dinner at Capri on January 26th, 2012, we decided that we would like to share the news with my parents.  When we walked in the door my parents were suprised to see us.  They asked what we were up to.  To which we responded, "Just dropping some stuff off".  We went downstairs and I handed my mom a bag.  She looked inside and found my big red disney book that I loved when I was little.  I read it so often that the binding on the book was damaged.  There was a note on the cover of the book that read, "Please fix me before I arrive in 9 months".  Mom looked up and said, "Are you serious?  Are you joking?"  I smiled and said, "Yep we really are!"

4th Anniversary & A Suprise

On January 26th 2012, Chuck and I celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary and received a surprise as well!!  We decided that we wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate, going to our favorite restaurant Capri in Palos Heights.  Chuck dropped me off at the door to get a seat at the bar and to get our drinks, upon entering he noticed there were no drinks but a little wrapped box waiting for him.  He looked at me and said, "I thought we said no gifts."  To which I replied, "I have had this for a month and a half."  When Chuck tore off the wrapping paper he noticed that it was from his favorite watch maker "Fossil".  He opened the box and a little note sat on top of the watch that said, "To: Daddy; From: Future Baby".  He put the note down and looked at the watch with a huge smile, but he didn't realize what the note had actually said.  He had thought the note was from our dogs and the cat.  He read the note once again and it clicked!!!  We were finally pregnant!!!
